ipod cheaters
When I needed to cheap in high school, I’d write test answers on my leg. Or have a little cheat sheet hidden under my desk. The kids these days - they’ve got it too easy - they can use their iPods to cheat! Students are recording themselves reading the answers and playing them during the test. Pretty smart if you ask me.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why none of my teachers allow headphones during tests.
And how is this different than a mini tape recorder w/ headphones in the 80s/90s?
I actually read about this in our local paper today. Must be making it’s rounds.
This was all over the news up here in Canada. The Toronto school board just banned cellphone use on school property and appears to be getting ready to do the same on the ipods.
I think it’s rather stupid that they are going to ban iPods from school as kids are ALWAYS going to find a way to cheat.
Instead of banning these items, they should just have students put everything at the front of the classroom, including iPods and other electronics in their bags. Then the teacher should walk around the classroom while they write their tests. It’s simple and that’s pretty much what they do in college.
Low-tech is always the better way to go when cheating at school! (Not that I’m advocating the practice or anything.)
Colleen, I did what you did: write on body parts and/or make a cheat sheet. The riskiest thing I ever did was write out some translations on the pages of my Latin dictionary, which we were allowed to use during exams.
You know I agree with Tina, banning the iPod is not the answer. If the teacher’s presence and awareness was felt there wouldn’t be very much cheating. If they think they’re going to get caught because the teacher is alert then they won’t do it. They’ll guess and fill in A, B, A, B like everyone else! LOL
