supahstar saturday 3/31/07
Deb of Surviving NJ is our Supahstar this week! She’s been shamelessly promoting Supahstar Saturday (and GeekySpeaky too!) since I started this, and she’s a great blogger who is currently blogging on several different domains. She’s not just surviving in New Jersey, she’s thriving!
Why do you blog? I’ve always loved to express myself through writing. I started writing when I was a teenager, and always felt more free to be more expressive than with my spoken words. Over the years, the love of writing translated into books, articles and then blogging was my next process. I have multiple blogs that cover general topics where I just speak about life, and I have niche blogs now where I have more focus. My mind tends to scatter and go off in different areas, so I like having the flexibility of different sites to spread those thoughts out on.
What do you like best about blogging? I think the thing I like best about blogging is the community that it creates. Meeting other bloggers, reading new blogs, and reading personal views on me is more appealing then news at times. I find news to be sad and depressing at times, because the media loves to play on ratings, rather than things that people actually want to know about. In reading blogs, you get to see what people think about different topics. I’ve met some great friends through blogging. I love the freedom I feel when I blog to discuss what’s important to me, rather than what the world may deem is important.

[…] A while back I was chatting with some friends in a forum that I’m a member of. I was telling them about the Anatomy class I’m taking and My friend Deb said she had something for me. Next thing I know, there was a package on the front porch with the Anatomy and Physiology coloring book in it. Deb had sent it to me. She’s a great person and I’m so glad she’s the Supahstar this week. Her blog is called Surviving NJ and after watching all (but last season) of The Soprano’s I can imagine that that’s a task in itself. I love reading her blog where I just recently discovered that Steve Irwin’s daughter will be hosting a show on Animal Planet. I was such a great fan of the crocodile hunter that this should be a very enjoyable show to watch. I can’t wait to check it out. I was disappointed to find out that Deb is a New Jersey Devils fan. I shouldn’t be surprised though, she does live in NJ. I personally don’t like the Devils because they knocked my beloved Hurricanes out of the playoffs the first time they made the playoffs. Oh my I have been so bad. I ALWAYS remember this, but usually on Monday or Tuesday and I feel that’s too late to do it. I should have re-read the rules when that happened and learned that we had all week to do them. Anyway, I decided to try it this week since it was only Sunday when I remembered. (I also re-read the rules, lol).

[…] New Jersey FTW Guess what? Deb is from NJ too. How hawt is that? Now I don’t feel so alone. I visit her blog every now and then, and it’s always an interesting read.
