where geeks live
I’ve always wanted to move out of Florida and to a state with a cooler climate…one where you get to experience all four seasons…but I’d have to go someplace where I can be with my own kind. What’s my own kind? Geeks of course. What better than Washington state, where geeks rule with an iron fist? Home of Microsoft and all sorts of other tech companies, it’s a great place for a geek to grow up, live, work, and play. Of course, I’m no Bill Gates, so affordable housing is a must. I’m also not a city dweller - I like the open country, and nice views. Marysville real estate fits the bill. The area includes Marysville, Tulalip, Everett, Arlington, Smokey Point, Stanwood, Granite Falls, Lake Stevens, Lynnwood, Mill Creek, Snohomish, and Bothell. Geeks and those interested in working in tech can find employment at local corporations like Boeing and Everett Navy Base, or Home Depot and Quil Ceda Village. Boeing attracts employees from all over the world, so the area remains a diverse and interest place to live, work, and play. Marysville WA Real Estate is affordable and close to hiking, sports (Go Seahawks!) skiing, and loads of other outdoor activities.

Colleen,
I wouldn’t live anywhere else - it’s absolutely beautiful here. Drivers gawking at green valleys backed by jagged, snow-capped peaks and set against bright blue sky have caused more than one accident on local freeways. And there are definitely has distinct seasons here - even more so in Eastern WA. A word of caution though, especially since you’re used to warm sunny weather down there in Florida - it’s cold, gray, and wet here for a good 2-3 months during the winter. I’ve talked with other real estate professionals who’ve sold homes to your fellow Floridians, only to resell them a year or two later when those clients decide they can’t weather the winters.
A little snow sounds real nice right now!!! Although the last few days its cooled down to under 100, but the humidity is up.
