cable splitter
I’ve got a situation that I’m sure my cable company won’t help me with - so I’m turning to all of you for help. I’ve got a cable outlet in my den at home, which currently has my modem plugged into it. It didn’t occur to me when we were building this house to add an extra cable outlet in case I wanted to put a TV in here. And wouldn’t you know it? I have an extra TV I want to put in here! I had the cable company out a while back for another issue, and I asked the tech about it…and he mentioned something about getting a “splitter” for it, but that the cable company didn’t allow it, so I could do it, but he couldn’t help me.
Anyone know if what he said is correct? Will it allow me to run the modem and the TV off one cable outlet?

Yeah you can buy a little thing that you connect from the wall to the thing and then there are two ends coming out of that. You then connect the cable and the model to the two things. It works great.
Wow I’m technical.
Now that’s just so strange. When I moved into my condo, the cable company came and hooked my computer and tv up and it’s all on 1 outlet with a splitter. The cable company did it… I didn’t. I have done it before myself.
As Tess said, it’s really easy. The splitter is easy to get at Target or Walmart or any electronics store. I’ve found the one thing that can be a pain is the excess cord all around.
Just remember to buy a “two-way” splitter for now. If you get a “three-way” or higher thinking you might add more things later, and it’s left open, you will lose signal strength, and I know you don’t want a slower internet connection
