supahstar saturday starts tomorrow!
I’m starting a new meme called SUPAHSTAR SATURDAY on Saturday, February 10th, 2007. It’s designed to give one person a lot of traffic and buzz about their site in one week….from other bloggers just like you! Each Saturday I’ll feature a new blog. That blogger will be chosen randomly from the pool of participants - more on that in a bit. When I post the featured blogger on Saturday, anyone who wants to participate can - simply link to that blogger on YOUR blog and write about them or their site.
Here’s how to join in:
- I’ll post a new Supahstar each Saturday. You have until the following Saturday to write and submit your entry.
- A link to both the main URL and 1 or 2 “deep links” to individual entries is preferred. (Please do not use the “nofollow” tag in your links, as it defeats the purpose of this meme!) Be creative! Find a post or 2 on the featured blog that you can have fun writing about.
- Once your created your blog entry, come back here and post on the entry I’ve written about the featured blogger…err..Supahstar. That way everyone can enjoy your work. Just fill our your name and blog URL in the comments, and then leave the Permalink to your post as well.
- So now you’re wondering, “How do I get picked to be a Supahstar?” It’s easy, really. Just participate FIVE times and then you’re eligible. I ask that you participate at least five times so that we only “reward” people who are taking the time to actively promote others through Supahstar Saturday. If you’re too busy to join in one weekend, not to worry, you do not have to participate weekly in order to be picked, as long as you do the minimum 5 posts.
- Do you have more than one blog? Feel free to put the Supahstar on both blogs! Additionally, if you’d like another blog you author to be featured, we’ll do so - just participate at least 10 times. 3 blogs = 15 times, so on and so forth. Your blog must be regularly updated and not a load of spammy entries. We like blogs that are welll written and sparkle with your personality!
- In return, you’ll see an increase in traffic, more readers, your Technorati rank will go up, and you’ll have more inbound links which can lead to a higher Google Pagerank. Completely free! You’ll also get a special “Featured Supahstar” image to display on your blog. (If you haven’t submitted your blog to Technorati, head on over now and take care of that)
Speaking of images, these were all created for me by my friend Loretta - didn’t she do great? You can grab one of these and display it with your entries for Supahstar Saturday (linking back to this site of course!), or feel free to put the small badge on your sidebar and link it back here. (Please save the images and upload to your own server - hot linking isn’t nice!)

SUPAHSTAR SATURDAY…
This is a pretty cool idea. Basically it’s a weekly meme that’s going around. It requires that the participants give a bit of link love and talk about another blogger (the Saturday Supahstar) at some point on their blog……

[…] Whoa! Thats a bright orange page. I use Google Reader to read blogs and that leaves me not seeing the cool themes my blogging friends are using. This week’s Supahstar is Cecile. I’ll admit that I don’t know her as well as some of the previous Supahstars but I do read what she writes sometimes. She has a blog called Work At Home Musings that really catches your eye with a cool orange theme (I think I already told you about that though) and she’s always writing about cool stuff. The actual URL for the blog is Mom’s With A Spine which I think rocks. I just found her TV viewing habits and discovered we share some things and some differences. She loves Reality TV (and I don’t) and we both love Cold Case. Of course my favorite post of hers was when she did a SS post about me (suh-weet!!!).
