ipod no go

After returning my 2nd iPod FM kit today, I talked to a guy at Circuit City to find out what my options are, as far as playing my iPod in the car without going through an FM frequency. My options are not good.

There’s a kit I could use, but it only covers through 2005 Ford models, and I have a 2006. My other option is to buy a new radio for my car. Seeing as how the truck is brand new, I don’t think so.

For now, my iPod will remain in the house. I’m very sad.

We can’t use FM kits either, so we got an Altec Lansing inMotion and have been really satisfied with it. It sits on the dash, folds down quickly for stashing under the seat, recharges the iPod while it plays, and plugs into the cigarette lighter.

    Highly recommended.

1st’ly I would recemmend hacking into your cars wiring harness to put an inline jack to plug your IPOD into - If you choose to go that route check Crutchfield.com, It may be a little money and some manual labor but its the best way.

Aside from that ditch the FM transmitter and get a BLUETOOTH transmitter, its WAY better with no static. Again BB, CC, Or Crutchfield should have them.

[…] If you’ve been following my iPod saga over at GeekySpeaky you’ll know that I had no luck finding something to play the iPod in my car. Boo hoo! I’ll just have to suck it up for now - at least I can warn people from buying those FM Transmitters now, since I’ve tested (and disliked 2 of them!) […]
